Ryan
A dazzling guitarist and multi-instrumentalist, Ryan is terrific with rock, pop, jazz, blues, classical, folk and more. Fortunately, since Ryan is such a nice, laid-back person, you’ll find his talent inspiring, rather than intimidating. Ryan’s instrumental specialities include guitar, ukulele and bass.
Ryan’s other love is recording. He’s a Pro Tools, Logic and Sibelius expert, and an all-around recording guru, so if you don’t see him holding a guitar, he’s behind a mixing board or a computer. Ryan holds a B.Mus. in Studio Guitar, with a minor in Music Recording, from USC’s Thornton School of Music, where he was awarded a full scholarship.
Ryan loves working with guitar and recording students of all skill levels – whether you’re picking up the guitar for the first time, or you’ve been playing for decades. Ryan has a very organized approach, and enjoys breaking down seemingly complex concepts into digestible bites.
Ryan is a self-described “life-long computer geek,” so he is a great choice for students that like a modern approach to lessons, incorporating software tools. He also enjoys giving skype lessons.
Ryan’s favorite musicians include:
Guitar – David Gilmour, Eric Clapton, Tommy Emmanuel, John Mayer, Julian Lage, John Frusciante, Blake Mills
Bass – Pino Palladino, Flea, Paul McCartney, Steve Swallow, Ron Carter
Ukulele – George Harrison, Israel Kamakawiwo’ole, Eddie Kamae, Jack Johnson, Ingrid Michaelson
