Cliff

Cliff Retallick is a music professional living in the Long Beach area of Los Angeles. He learned to play the piano sitting on his mother’s lap so he could reach the keys. His mother was a piano teacher so he was constantly surrounded by both music and the joy that it brings to those who learn it. He started teaching to complement his career as a professional pianist, composer and producer and allow him to inspire the next generation of piano players. Cliff feels that he learns as much from his students as they learn from him. He has been teaching piano for the past several years and enjoys a great rapport with his students, both young and adult, tailoring each student’s journey to their unique talents and goals.
Among his many accomplishments, he has recorded with artists from Alice Cooper to Smokey Robinson and is the most in demand accompanist for silent films in Los Angeles. He frequently works for the UCLA Film and Television Archives and performs at venues from El Cid to Royce Hall. He won a Silver Telly Award for his original score for the PBS documentary “For the Love Of a Brother”.
