Richard Thomas is a highly accomplished pianist and experienced teacher, boasting an impressive 33 years of playing and 25 years of teaching. His musical journey began at the age of 6, and by 16, he was already sharing his expertise as a teacher. Richard’s exceptional talent earned him a certificate of merit for music excellence upon graduating high school at 16. He then went on to study at the renowned San Francisco Conservatory of Music on a full scholarship, further honing his skills.

Richard has been an active and sought-after musician, captivating audiences in various capacities. From solo performances to ensemble work, he has showcased his versatility across a range of genres including classical, jazz, and pop. His talents extend to accompanying choirs, chamber music, operas, and he has even performed as a choir accompanist in prestigious basilicas in Italy, including St. Peter’s at the Vatican.

In 2020, Richard made a significant move to Los Angeles to embark on a career in studio production, film scoring, and continued performing as a soloist and group collaborator. Additionally, he has been actively involved with the Glenn Campbell Studio, leading music therapy classes for students with special needs. Richard’s passion for education and his commitment to nurturing talent led him to earn a Master’s degree in music from San Francisco State University, where he received the MTAC teaching award and emerged as the winner of the esteemed William Corbett-Jones Piano Competition.
