Guitar lessons - Los Angeles - Red Pelican Music - Sebastien 3

I am taking ukulele lessons with Sebastien. His passion for music is infectious!! I look forward to my weekly lessons with him and am surprised by how much I've learned in just one month. Sebastien is an experienced guitarist, but is really good at breaking down the basics in a way that is fun and easy to understand.

My seven-year-old, Kaleb, has really taken to the ukulele thanks to Sebastien's expert, positive, and patient care. We're four lessons in and I am thrilled with the progress Kaleb is making and with the clarity of Sebastien's approach, making it so easy. Definitely recommend Red Pelican! The process has been better than advertised!

Red Pelican has been great for my son, who's been taking guitar lessons with Sebastien. His knowledge of jazz music and music theory has been incredibly helpful to him as he's part of his school's jazz band. After every lesson, we get notes from Sebastien which helps him decide what to focus on when he practices.

A rare combo of awesome musician and awesome teacher, Sebastien is great at explaining music in a way that really helps you to get inside it - especially helpful to me with theory-heavy jazz. But also blues, funk, rock, and a bunch of other genres we've worked on. Sebastian can do it all and I highly, highly recommend him and Red Pelican for guitar lessons.

Sebastien was super understanding and warm, non-judgmental and made me feel, truly, like a friend. He jumped right into the kind of style of music that I loved, and any time I had a question (which was often to say the least), he explained everything . . . I highly recommend him as a teacher!!!

Brian was very nice and made the entire process easy and simple. I was paired with Sebastien to learn the guitar, who was an amazing teacher. He was very patient and knowledgeable and taught me the fundamentals - I'll be rocking RHCP soon enough!

One rainy Sunday afternoon in central Massachusetts, a restless 9-year-old Sebastien dug through his closet to find an old classical guitar, and a lifelong obsession began.  Sebastien spent his collegiate years as a Presidential Scholar at the University of Southern California’s prestigious Studio/Jazz Guitar Program studying jazz and classical guitar performance, theory, composition and songwriting while playing everything from jazz, bossa nova, rock, R&B, flamenco, fusion and funk, to blues, slide guitar and dobro, country, and beyond.

Sebastien has studied under world-renowned guitarists Bruce Forman, Frank Potenza, Richard Smith, Pat Kelley, Adam del Monte, and Steve Trovato. Sebastien graduated with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Studio/Jazz Guitar Performance with a Minor in Songwriting.

Sebastien’s favorite musicians include:  Derek Trucks, Joe Bonamassa, Jeff Beck, Prince, Miles Davis, Biffy Clyro, John Legend, Al di Meola, Stevie Wonder, Four Year Strong, Phoenix, Van Halen, Mutemath, Frightened Rabbit, Bad Rabbits, Black Dahlia Murder, Aaron Parks, John Mayer, Gojira, Taylor Eigsti, and beyond…
