Kerry

Kerry has been playing music as far back as he can remember, sitting beside his singer/pianist mother in Upstate NY, learning the basics of melody, harmony, rhythm, theory, and song structure. He then began his instrumental journey in school, studying cello, trombone, and baritone horn. At 10 years old, he began privately studying electric bass, followed a year later by electric guitar, which became the love of his life.

After years of study and practice of electric guitar, he added acoustic guitar and voice to his arsenal and formed the rock band nNeptep, before moving to LA, where nNeptep has recorded 2 albums and performed all over Southern California.

After an experience at a school for people with autism, Kerry became inspired to write and record a children’s record promoting social skills entitled Songs About Us. Since its release, it has received numerous awards and accolades, national attention, reviews in Billboard and The Huffington Post, and enabled him to perform at schools, camps, events, and benefits across the country.

He has studied under the tutelage of noted guitarist Bodhan Sochan, received a degree from West Los Angeles College with a focus on music, as well as at Cal State Northridge, where he studied music therapy.

Kerry has experience teaching students of all ages, backgrounds, and developmental abilities, and uses a laid-back, goal-oriented approach to sharing/teaching guitar and bass, as well as songwriting and music theory. He continues to write, record, and play, and loves to share his love of music with everyone!
