Oliver is a terrific classical piano teacher, who holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s of Music degrees in classical piano from UCLA, where is his also a staff accompanist for the music dept. Oliver also studied classical piano at San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and as well as in Hong Kong. Oliver is fluent in both English and Cantonese.
Oliver has a warm and friendly style, and over nine years of experience teaching piano students of all ages and backgrounds, including students with special needs. His goal is to keep students motivated, exploring each student’s potential, building confidence, while maintaining steady progress. Oliver focuses a lot on relaxation, efficiency, and technique, while building repertoire that is fun!
While piano is Oliver’s specialty, he is also an excellent flute teacher, and enjoys working with beginning flute students.
Oliver’s favorite composers are, Bach, Mozart, Chopin and Liszt; his favorite pianists include, Vladimir Horowitz, Krystian Zimerman, Murray Perahia and Alfred Cortot
When not teaching, Oliver enjoys hanging out with his two cats, and eating sushi, mediterranean and Korean food.
