Scott’s gentle and organized style works equally well with complete beginners, or folks working on advanced concepts – from jazz theory to metal guitar techniques (sweep picking arpeggios, etc).
As Scott says, “If I can hear it, I can play it.” Scott is an adept rock, progressive metal, blues, jazz, country and classical guitarist. He enjoys teaching students of all ages on both conventional 6-string, and 7-string instruments, and also beginning bass and piano students.
Scott’s approach is to zero in on a student’s musical goals, and then guide them through the songs and applied theory necessary to actualize the student’s full potential. Scott draws inspiration from a wide range of influences, including, Guthrie Govan, John Petrucci, Michael Romeo, Gus G, and Kiko Loureiro.
When not teaching guitar, Scott enjoys performing with rock bands, doing classical guitar gigs, and writing orchestral music.
In addition to studio and in-home lessons, Scott also offers guitar lessons via webcam (Skype).
