Born and raised in Orange County, California, Jarrett began classical piano training at age three and studied for over a decade, earning a Certificate of Merit at 17. He picked up guitar during his freshman year of college and quickly fell in love with it. He attended the College of William & Mary in Virginia, graduating magna cum laude with a double major in Music Business and Hispanic Studies. While there, he played in several bands, composed original music for film, and served as stage manager for the music department. Jarrett has taught students of all ages, from young children to fellow college students and adults. He currently works in artist management and enjoys all kinds of music, with classic rock and 90s/2000s indie shoegaze among his favorites.

Jarrett focuses on teaching students the music they actually want to learn and play, rather than forcing a set curriculum, while weaving in supplemental music theory along the way.
