Evelyn is a fantastic classical pianist, who enjoys working with students of all levels and ages. Born in Korea and raised in the United States, Evelyn has placed at numerous piano competitions, and has performed throughout the United States, Asia, and Europe.
Evelyn is currently pursuing a doctorate in Piano Performance at the University of Southern California, where she is a graduate teaching assistant. Evelyn previously studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and the Eastman School of Music, and her teachers include Bernadene Blaha, Yoshikazu Nagai, and Enrico Elisi.
Evelyn believes that anyone can play the piano, but to play it well requires proper guidance in both fundamentals and artistry. She makes piano playing easy and fun, but also challenging and ultimately, very rewarding.
In addition to piano, Evelyn enjoys teaching music theory and aural musicianship. She has guided many students through ABRSM exams. Evelyn is also member of MTAC (for the Certificate of Merit program), and the MTNA.
Some of Evelyn’s favorite pianists include Ashkenazy, Richter, Rubinstein, and Argerich.
Fun fact: Evelyn loves extremely spicy food 😉
