Zack
Zack is terrific multi-instrumentalist. He teaches bass (electric and acoustic) at Musician’s Institute, and just so happens to be an outstanding mandolin and pedal steel instructor. Zack is adept with a broad range of styles – rock, jazz, r&b, country, bluegrass – even hip-hop! – his recent recording credits include a track on the upcoming Lupe Fiasco album!
Zack teaches with a focus on technique and universal musical concepts, such as music theory and ear training. He makes it fun by applying these concepts to real musical examples. As Zack says, “I like to get students up and playing as soon as possible.”
Zack’s genial personality, and organized style is a great fit for folks of all ages and styles.
Zack’s favorite musicians include:
Tim Lefebvre, Ray Brown, and Edgar Meyer (bass)
Chris Thile (mandolin)
Cowboy Eddie Long, and Paul Franklin (pedal steel guitar)
Oscar Peterson (piano)
When not dispensing musical wisdom, Zack is a man of the people – his favorite food: fried pickles 😉
