DJ Lessons - Los Angeles - Red Pelican Music - Nick - 2

DJ Nick is the best! He is highly skilled in the Numark Itch console (the system my son has), and was immediately able to assess my sons strengths and areas of opportunity. His punctuality, knowledge of music, professionalism, ability to connect with my son and emailed notes makes DJ Nick the cut above the rest. Save yourself the time and hassle of searching for DJ courses and just use Red Pelican Music. You won't regret it!!

Nick is an electronic artist, DJ, and multi-instrumentalist. Nick graduated from Berklee College of Music, where he studied bass, turntablism, and electronic music performance.  While he was a student, Nick was chosen for a Numark and Akai sponsored video and an international tour of China.

After graduating, Nick taught electronic music production and DJ techniques at Yale University’s summer program, and then moved to Spain to earn a master’s degree in Music Technology and Innovation from Berklee’s graduate program in Valencia.  While in Spain, Nick taught Berklee’s undergraduate course in Electronic Music Performance and the Art of the DJ, and enjoyed performing in Europe’s legendary club scene.

After completing his M.A. from Berklee, Nick moved to one of Europe’s biggest electronic music hubs, Berlin. While in Germany, Nick worked as an audio engineer, session player, and strengthened his chops as a DJ.

Fortunately for us, Nick now resides in Los Angeles, where we are privileged to have him at Red Pelican Music.  Nick specializes in teaching electronic music production and DJ skills, and also enjoys working with electric bass students.

Nick believes in a hands-on style of learning.  Lessons are fun and engaging, and a rare opportunity to work a terrific artist, and talented teacher.

Nick’s favorite musicians include:  Sublime, Kendrick Lamar, DJ Premier, DJ Muggs, RZA, Black Sabbath, Avett Brothers, Miles Davis, and Shostakovich
