Melody grew up in a highly musical family – She started playing the piano and singing at age seven, putting on shows after family dinners. Her childhood listening diet was diverse — jazz standards, classic r&b and soul, pop, rock, gospel, country and musical theater.
Melody followed her passion for music studying voice and musical theater at Columbia College, and completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance at Hollywood’s Musician’s Institute.
As a voice and piano teacher, Melody is brimming with enthusiasm and positive energy, helping students with their confidence in stage performance, while building their voice and piano skills. Melody emphasizes on the importance of a genuine performance that tells a story.
Melody is an active studio singer and performer. She has a special love for the classic Jazz standards and R&B/Soul music she grew up listening to. Melody’s musical favorites include, Esperanza Spalding, Corinne Bailey Rae, Sara Vaughn, Kimbra, Stevie Wonder, Coldplay, Jeff Buckley.
*A kid at heart, Melody wishes she could eat pizza and drink root beer everyday.
