Banjo Lessons Los Angeles - Red Pelican Music - Adam 1

Adam

After working with Adam I was able to take my banjo skills from string-plucking dissonance to actually sounding good within just 4 lessons

Adam emphasizes mastering the basics . . . recognizing where patterns lie on the fretboard – the tools necessary to create your own music or figure out how to play songs just by listening to them.

Learned not only songs and technique, but also theory as well. Challenging and rewarding, but also very relaxed and fun.

Adam is an incredible guitarist and has helped our son progress a tremendous amount in a short period of time. It's well worth the drive from Riverside to L.A.
Zachary Larsen

A multi-instrumentalist, Adam teaches banjo, guitar and dobro.  He is a dazzling player, with an organized, but easy-going teaching style, who really enjoys demystifying music for his students.  Adam is equally adept with country, rock, jazz and bluegrass.

Adam earned degrees in music from both the University of Virginia, and Hollywood’s Musician’s Institute, and was a national merit scholar — no kidding!

Adam currently performs and records with Billy Ray Cyrus – recently doing a show at the Grand Ole Opry! Other recent credits include a track on Lupe Fiasco’s upcoming album (country and hip-hop cred!). Adam recently played with Ben Dukes on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and has opened for Alan Jackson, Gary Allan and Jerrod Niemann, among many others.

Adam’s favorite guitarists are Brent Mason, Tony Rice, Brian May, and John Scofield.  His banjo favorites include Scott Vestal, J.D. Crowe, Earl Scruggs, Bela Fleck, and Alison Brown; Adam’s dobro inspirations are Rob Ickes and Jerry Douglas.

Adam is endorsed by Deering banjos and Gretsch guitars.
